The way the IT market is going is consolidation of services, often via virtualization. Saving a few dollars a month for hours of time per month in learning a new system and maintaining a new system simply will not pay off. You could spend that time in many many other ways that net you more savings/revenue and in the end that's how life works. yeah you're wasting your live to save a few dollars a month.
As batteries increase the need for that RISC based efficiency drops over very very fast.

Since X86 still has the vast majority of code base I think it's pretty clear that ARM will have to learn how to compete and not just win on the merrits of being ultra efficient. That means there is no doubt ARM is going to no longer be the only low power platform. That means there is no doubt ARM will have more serious competition. Intel is now focuses on energy efficiency and it's safe to say they will do well at that. Unless you think ARM codebase is somehow more secure, it doesn't make a lot of sense to use ARM Linux over x86 Linux.

Intel isn't far from being able to displace the majority of ARM chips. PI is not a platform that is going to go anywhere.įor that matter it's unlikely ARM Linux will continue to play the primary role it does. Spending hours and days of your life to build these Pi servers is a complete waste of everyones time. Go mow the grass or rake some leaves and use your time for something that has value before you get old and die. When you're working for 10 times below minumum wage, you're probably doing something wrong. Saving money to that degree will wind up costing your money in time badly spent. When you use something everyday, you don't try to save as much money as humanly possible. well you ppl are just not managing things well here. If you use this server or downloader to support a system you use daily. 5 dollars a month to run a server is not enough to waste your time trying to avoid. All to later rebuild it because it was a bad idea from the start. Then you come on here asking for help to complete your master plan of stupid. I see all you people on here wasting days of your life to save pennies that will never add up.

A full sized server might cost 5-7 dollars a month to run. There is no real upside, using a PI is a waste of your time, imo. If you don't know Linux well, don't use it. The problem is you didn't read the setup and do it right. Have I set anything up incorrectly here, or is there any other info that's missing that would help? with the video, all of the sample files, nfo files, etc, in that directory. However when a file downloads instead of it going into /mnt/sda1/media/TV/ show name/Show name 1x05 - Episode title, it goes to /mnt/sda1/media/TV/.xyz. In Sonarr I have Rename episodes turned on with standard episode format set to I have my main directory in Sonarr set up so that shows sit in /mnt/sda1/media/TV/ show name. Once the files are downloaded the destination directory in NZBGet is set to /mnt/sda1/media/TV/ NZBGet monitors that directory and starts downloading when they arrive.

I have Sonarr set up to download NZB files to a Usenet black hole at /mnt/sda1/media/nzb/. Here's my setup, in case I've misconfigured something simple. I have Sonarr and NZBget running on a Banana pi (though I had the same issue when I used Windows). For some reason Sonarr isn't moving or renaming files after they're downloaded.
